Ahmed AlSharif says games industry experience is the “secret ingredient” to solving AI’s efficiency bottlenecks

After several months in stealth mode, games industry veteran Ahmed AlSharif has officially unveiled his new AI start-up, Think. The company is dedicated to building a new generation of intelligent, unified software and hardware AI infrastructure designed to be significantly more efficient than current technologies.

Think aims to solve the industry’s most pressing performance bottlenecks, including cooling, power efficiency, and GPU utilization.

The Games Industry Engineering Philosophy

With 16 years of technical leadership at PlayStation, EA, and Meta, AlSharif believes his background in wringing every drop of performance out of constrained gaming hardware is the key to fixing the current AI infrastructure crisis.

“The games industry has been optimizing GPUs and extracting maximum performance from constrained hardware for over forty years,” said AlSharif. “Where AI companies see a hardware procurement challenge, we see a GPU efficiency challenge. We are applying that same engineering philosophy to AI infrastructure.”

Strategic Leadership and Regional Growth

AlSharif is joined by co-founder Ammar Enaya, who brings over 30 years of experience leading sales at global tech giants including Cisco, HPE Aruba, and Vectra AI.

“We have a huge opportunity to work with companies constrained by the rising cost of hardware and concerns around data sovereignty,” said Enaya. “The conversations we’ve had in the region show that these infrastructure issues are affecting everyone, from small startups to major enterprises.”

Roadmap to LEAP 2026

Think already holds patents pending on several new products and has signed multiple significant Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs). The company plans to officially showcase its technology at LEAP, the Middle East’s premier technology show, taking place in Riyadh from August 31 to September 3, 2026.

While currently bootstrapped, the founders are actively exploring an initial funding round to support the global rollout of their upcoming product line.
